Now don’t get me wrong, I love keeping up with celebrity gossip and what not. But for the sake of the Gosselin family I hope this is their last season. Forgetting the money it brings in, I hope not having cameras around will help their family become more adjusted and hopefully return to a sense of normalcy.

I have fully enjoyed seeing their kids grow up and of course got caught up in all the drama, but I also enjoyed the show before all the issues, back when it was just about a family with a bunch of kids!

Divorce doesn’t always sit east with kids, especially at their ages, this will be a tough transition one I hope they can all weather (although personally I hope Jon gets over his mid-life crisis and snaps back to reality).

I will be keeping the tires in my car at the proper PSI and getting tune-ups and proper maintenance to ensure nothing major happens that will cost me a fortune.

I have already started buying in bulk with things that are non-perishable like trash bags, dishwasher detergent and paper towels. All of these I buy at the best savings per unit. These are things we will always need so why waste money on a small quantity. Not including the counless trips to the store.

The other day we made tacos for dinner and ate them for about two days. Then before we threw it out we added tortilla chips and made it all into taco salad for a very small cookout at a friends. The four of us enjoyed the salad and we got to use our leftovers!

I also like to do a little shopping after work as I am tired and my feet hurt so I do not want to spend a long time in the store. I get in and get out with only what I need.

This isn’t anything new but in our small trash cans (bathroom, bedroom) we re-use plastic shopping bags. We seem to accumulate these like crazy!

For Easter my mom made me an Easter basket and used a lunch box to hold all the goodies. This is now used by my boyfriend who works 8-4pm and has a lunch hour. Most of my shifts are short and I do not recieve a lunch. On those days I bring something simple to keep me until I get home and so I do not purchase a snack a work. I like to make trail mix, a granola bar or a box of crackers and keep them in my locker for other days.

I also do this with a drink. I bought a few water jugs to take drinks in and can keep re-filling them to save money. If I am particularly thirsty I can always re-fill these with water from work.

I frequent stores like Goodwill and the Salvation Army to fill my shopping wants. I have found some really cute items along with clothes I wish I could find more of! I recently found a pair of Silver Jeans that I absolutely love for about $4. In stores these are $60 plus. I have been searching Ebay to find a pair just like them since they are out of season and I am in love with them! I even recently found a pack of 20 hangers (all purple; my favorite color) for only 50 cents. Way cheaper than any department store!

I was recently at Target looking for some decor for my apt when I spotted the exact piece of art I have bought at Goodwill. Their price: $99.99. I paid: 13.49. Now mine did not have glass and was a bit dinged up but that is a huge savings! I think it looks better without glass and the dings gave it some texture to the frame and I added a few of my own to make it look more genuine.

I have wanted to re-do my dresser for some time now. My plan is to sand it down, and use this paint to make it beautiful! I’m still debating on getting new hardware or not….

We are cutting soda out of our kitchen along with heavily processed foods which will not necessarily save us money (fresh foods often cost more) but we are saving in terms of our health.

I’ve also resolved to stay away from name brands when possible. Who cares what brand of toothbrush you have? Or what kind of paper plates you use as long as they get the job done?

We turn the A/C off when we leave, and un-plug just about everything. We wear less clothes when it’s hot and open the sliding door before the sun hits around 4pm, and put a fan by it also. I still can’t break myself of having the tv on when I sleep but I consider that a luxury I am willing to pay for.

I also search the internet for giveaways and free samples, so far I have plenty of toothpaste and deodarant, plus I discovered you can get free flat rate boxes from the postal service delivered right to your door.

Luckily our rent covers gas, water and trash removal. All we pay for is electricity, cable and the internet. So we can be as warm as we want in the winter and I taking taking baths, so this all works in my favor!

Good news for job seekers – Office Depot has extended their free résumé printing offer through the end of 2009. Office Depot is providing free copies of résumés, up to 25 single-sided pages, as well as free faxing to five different domestic numbers, up to 25 pages in total.

Amazon is also offering hundreds (833 to be exact) of free songs for you to download. You get to choose the songs you want so it’s a littler easier than the Urban Outfitters offer. I didn’t know most of the artists or songs but if you want to try something new this is perfect for you!
